Amazing news!
I got selected for the Junior Research Group Program sponsored by the Max-Planck Center for Visual Computing and Communication (MPC-VCC). The MPC-VCC selects a small number of outstanding young scientists. The Junior Reserach Program is financially supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It begins with a preparatory 1-2 year postdoc phase (Phase P) at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics, followed by a two-year appointment at Stanford University (Phase I) as a visiting assistant professor, and then a position at the Max Planck Institute for Informatics as a junior research group leader (Phase II). The MPC-VCC granted me the option to skip the preparatory phase, making me the youngest visiting assistant professor at Stanford since the program launched in 2002. I feel very honored to have Prof. Bernd Girod as my mentor at Stanford University.
